Solved “There has been a critical error on this website.” in WordPress using hosting cPanel or FTP

This is a very common WordPress issue “There has been a critical error on this website.” where the WordPress dashboard becomes inaccessible. This is mainly caused by outdated themes or plugins. To solve this you need to access the WordPress directories using the hosting cPanel or FTP, rename the plugins or themes folder, then debug the issue as shown in the video.

After accessing the WordPress directories by using either the hosting cPanel or FTP, you will need to go inside the “wp-contents” folder. Then try renaming the “plugins” folder to “plugins.hold”, this will deactivate all the plugins on the site. If this solves the issue then one or multiple plugins are responsible for causing this issue.

Rename the plugins folder back to “plugins”. All the plugins will be available again on the WordPress dashboard. Then start activating them one at a time. If activating one causes this issue again, then you know this is the one causing this issue. Try deleting the plugin and reactivating it again.
