Install WordPress in domain, subdomain or directory using NameCheap Hosting cPanel

If you’re seeking an effortless way to set up a WordPress website, look no further. In this guide, we’ll show you how to seamlessly install WordPress using the cPanel interface provided by hosting provider NameCheap. We’ll walk you through the steps, from logging into cPanel to launching your WordPress website.

Section 1: Choosing the Right Hosting

Before we dive into the installation process, it’s important to choose a hosting provider that supports cPanel. In our case, we’ve opted for Namechip’s Stellar Plus shared hosting. Here’s why:

  1. Affordability: Stellar Plus offers a cost-effective solution for hosting multiple websites.
  2. Feature-Rich: Enjoy benefits like SSD hosting, unlimited mailboxes, auto backup, and a website builder, all at an affordable price.
  3. No Extra Charges: Unlike some hosting providers, Namechip allows you to host multiple WordPress websites without additional fees.

If you’re interested in exploring this hosting option, you can find the link to Namechip in the comments and description of this blog post.

Section 2: Logging into cPanel

  1. Log in to your NameCheap hosting account and navigate to the cPanel interface.
  2. In cPanel, scroll down to find the “Scripts” section, and look for “WordPress by Softaculous.”

Section 3: Initiating the WordPress Installation

  1. Click on “WordPress by Softaculous” to start the installation process.
  2. You’ll see a list of WordPress websites you’ve installed previously. To add a new one, click on the “Install” button.

Section 4: Configuring Your WordPress Installation

  1. Choose the domain, host, or subdomain where you want to install WordPress. For this demonstration, we’ve created a subdomain named “sample.tasvirwebsolutions.com.”
  2. Optionally, you can install WordPress in a directory by specifying a name.
  3. Provide a name for your site, like “Sample.”
  4. Create a secure username and password for accessing your WordPress dashboard. Remember to store these credentials safely.
  5. In the “Admin Email” field, enter your valid email address for important notifications and password recovery.

Section 5: Plugin Selection

  1. You can choose which plugins to install. Hover over each to learn about their functions. For instance, we usually skip “Login Attempts” in favor of the iThemes Security plugin. Customize your selections based on your needs.

Section 6: Advanced Options

  1. Beginners can usually leave the database options as they are; no need to make changes here.
  2. Browse through additional themes if you’d like to install something other than the default WordPress theme. However, the default theme can always be changed later.

Section 7: Finalizing Installation

  1. Once you’re ready, click the “Install” button to initiate the installation process.
  2. You’ll receive a “Congratulations” message when the installation is complete.

Section 8: Accessing Your WordPress Dashboard

  1. To access your WordPress website, go to the WP admin login page.
  2. Enter the username and password you saved earlier.
  3. Click “Login” to gain access to your WordPress dashboard.

Conclusion:

And there you have it – your WordPress website is up and running, all thanks to the user-friendly Softaculous tool within the cPanel interface of your hosting. If you found this guide helpful, please consider liking this blog post and subscribing to my channel for more valuable content.
