Avada WordPress theme, the so-called number one selling theme on themeforest. It has over a staggering 518.7K sales and 22K reviews. As a new WordPress user, you might think it’s good, but even though it is shiny on the outside, it is equally rotten in the inside. And in 2019, I would suggest you not to buy it! I am stating the reasons below.
Now it is the era of page builders, mainly front-end page builders are dominating the WordPress marketplace. Page builders such as Elementor, Thrive Architect and Beaver Builder are focusing on user interface and ease of use. On the other hand, Avada page builder called the fusion builder is simply left behind. Fusion builder is a backend page builder, which means it is not “What you see what you get”. Every time you make an update, you always have to reload the page and see how it actually looks. This kills time and really frustrating to work with. The Avada theme costs USD 60. It would have been a fine theme in 2015-2016, but not now!

Not only that, their customer support is terrible. Instead of accepting their weakness and faults. They only seem to defend themselves. Here is a screenshot below of an actual reply for a one star review.
On the other hand, the most popular WordPress page builder called “Elementor” costs only $49. With Elementor, not only you can make beautiful pages, it is extremely easy to use. You can also make/design a full theme from scratch with it, without hiring a WordPress professional, which would cost you thousands of dollars. Oh, I forgot to mention! There is also a free version of Elementor, which you can use with some excellent free themes such as OceanWP, Astra, Generatepress, etc. But of course, if you need a more complicated website, then you can always buy the premium version of Elementor for $49.
If you are a WordPress newbie, stay far away from Avada theme, or I would say Themeforest in general. Get started with Elementor and one of the three themes I stated above. If you want to make the website all by yourself, you can follow this amazing video by Tyler Moore, and make a WordPress site within less than 1.5 hours for free.
